Step into Betting on European Hockey Games Too!

Alright! It’s the season for hockey and trust us — we’re pretty excited. There’s always a hockey game going on, because hockey is played indoors. Is your team going to be king of the ice? Well, there’s only one way to find out… you have to watch the games on your own. But watching the games on their own is boring — you need a little more excitement than that!

If you’re going to watch European hockey games, you might as well bet on them as well. Betting on matches isn’t difficult. If you can bet on the NHL games, then you can bet on the European hockey matches just as easily. One thing that separates European hockey betting is that you can bet on whether or not it’ll be a tie.

Tie bets are tricky — you have to hope that the team wins the match or you lose the bet.

So if Team A has a line of -150, a Draw of +480, and Team B has a line of +200, it means that you have to bet $15 on Team A just to win $10, but you can win $20 just by wagering $10. That’s pretty cool, if we say so ourselves. If you bet on the draw, then you win $48 for your $10 wager.

European Hockey Games

Your team has to win the match, but that doesn’t mean that it’ll be easy. You’ll have to make sure that you look at the inner mechanics of European hockey matches, including which team has the strongest players, and how strong those players have been performing. Every team seems to have a super player that just can’t seem to go wrong, but your mileage will vary.

Did you know that many from the National Hockey League in the States go over to play for European hockey teams? Hockey is truly a global sport that gets a lot of attention. Just because you might see a player in the NHL one season doesn’t mean that they can’t “cross over” sometime later in their career. This can help you place even better bets. Chances are good if they were good in the NHL, they will be good on the European side of things as well.

Odds for matches will change rapidly so much sure that you head over to sportsbook to see what’s really popping and what might need to be avoided. Good luck!

NHL Division Winners Betting

The NHL season is set to begin its shortened 48 game schedule this Saturday.  That means that you have only a few short days to get in your NHL division winners bets before the oddsmakers take them off the table.

Bet365 is one of the bookies offering this betting option and I have to say there are some lucrative bets in my opinion.  To learn a little more about the bookie before placing your bets check out this detailed Bet365 sports betting review.

Atlantic Division

  • Pittsburgh Penguins +135
  • New York Rangers +200
  • Philadelphia Flyers +260
  • New Jersey Devils +1100
  • New York Islanders +4000

The Penguins only slightly missed winning this division last year by one point to the Rangers.  This year Crosby is healthy to start the season and could help the team dominate in the regular season.  The Rangers added Rick Nash to help their offense, but I’m not sold on Nash.  The Flyers are the wild card here, as they have some good odds.  But I like the Penguins to win this division at + odds.

Northeast Division

  • Boston Bruins -150
  • Buffalo Sabres +475
  • Toronto Maple Leafs +650
  • Montreal Canadiens +700
  • Ottawa Senators +750

The Bruins are the biggest favourites to win out of all the divisions in the NHL and rightfully so.  They finished 10 points ahead of the second place Senators last year and this year should once again be the best team in the Northeast by far.  It’s not a great price for having your money locked up for the season, but it’s as sure a bet as you will find.  If you like risk you can take a flyer on the Sens.  I have no idea why they are paying out more than the Maple Leafs or Canadiens and they were right with the Bruins down the stretch last year (the 10 point spread was caused by the Bruins going 7-2-1 in their last 10 and the Sens going 4-6-0).

NHL Division

Northwest Division

  • Vancouver Canucks -130
  • Minnesota Wild +300
  • Edmonton Oilers +320
  • Colorado Avalanche +1800
  • Calgary Flames +2200

The Canucks have owned this division for the last several years and I don’t see any reason for that to change this year.  Sure the Wild picked up Parise and Suter in the offseason, but that doesn’t turn a bottom-five team into one that can contend with the best regular season team of the past 3 years.  The Oilers also have too high of expectations.  They had their young stars in the AHL and that team was still battling for a playoff spot.  I’m of the belief that people give too high of expectations for teams that have changed or have prospects.  And betting against the Canucks in this division is just stupid in my opinion.

Southeast Division

  • Washington Capitals +220
  • Carolina Hurricanes +220
  • Tampa Bay Lightning +375
  • Florida Panthers +475
  • Winnipeg Jets +650

The Capitals were always a less than even money bet to win their division, but some changes in the Southeast have changed this.  The Hurricanes brought in Jordan Staal and Alex Semin so expectations are high.  The Lightning also bolstered their defense which should help them this year.  That said I still think this is the Caps division to lose.  They played horribly by their standards last year and still finished within 2 points of the division win.  I love the odds here and would take the Caps for sure.

If you do decide to place one of these bets, you should know that you do not need to enter a Bet365 bonus code in order to receive the 100% matching bonus up to $200 provided by Bet365 to all new players.
